Based in Los Banos, CA, SGM Builders Inc. is a licensed general contractor. Since 2019, we’ve been building and remodeling homes across the Bay Area—from ADU construction in Hollister and Gilroy to full home renovations in Morgan Hill, San Jose, Los Gatos, and Saratoga.
SGM Builders was founded by Salvador Garcia, who has been in the construction industry since 1997. His approach is simple: guide homeowners through the entire process—not just the construction. From the initial design conversation to permit applications and the final walkthrough, we stay involved every step of the way.

Step 6. Final walkthrough and warranty.
We go through every detail with you, make sure everything works, and confirm it matches what you expected. Then we go over your warranty coverage and leave you with the documentation you need
Step 1. We schedule a site visit
Before any numbers come up, we come to your property and take a real look. We ask questions, listen to what you want, and make sure we understand the full scope.
Step 2 . You get a written estimate.
Depending on the project size, this takes anywhere from a few hours to about a week. Smaller jobs get faster turnarounds. ADU and large renovation projects take more time to price accurately we don’t rush it.
Step 3. Design and permits.
Once you approve the estimate, we handle the design drawings and permit applications. We file with the city or county on your behalf and keep you updated on where things stand. While we’re in the permitting process, we start working through finish selections with you tile, flooring, cabinets, fixtures.
Step 4. Construction
We walk you through the full build schedule before we break ground. You know what’s happening each week and who’s on site.

Do you handle the permits?
Yes. Design, permit applications, and construction we manage all of it. You don’t need to figure out the city or county permitting process on your own.
How long does a typical project take?
It depends on the scope. A bathroom renovation is typically around two weeks. A kitchen remodel runs about four weeks. ADU construction ranges from three to six months depending on permit timelines and project size. We give you a real schedule before we start.
Do you use subcontractors?
For licensed specialty work electrical, plumbing yes, we use trusted subcontractors. We manage them directly. You still deal with us.
Will we need to leave our home during construction?
In most cases, no. It depends on the project. We’ll give you a straight answer during the estimate visit.
Do you speak Spanish?
Yes. Salvador Garcia speaks English and Spanish fluently. You can conduct the entire project in either language.
What warranty do you offer?
All work comes with a one-year workmanship warranty per California contractor law. We back it fully.
